Dolores M. Plut (Pudlik) (nee Papesh), age 93, at rest on Monday, September 18, 2017 with her loving family by her side.

Dolores is survived by her children, Marcia (nee Pudlik) (James) Lyons, David (Cheryl Jacobs), and Rosann (Daniel) Cerovac; grandchildren, John (Traci), Michael (Sunny) Lyons and Katherine (Nick) Reckman, Spencer and Sadie Plut, Alex (Jenae) and Kelsey Cerovac; great-grandchildren, Margaret, Jude, Beau Lila and Max; one brother, Leroy (Gail) Papesh; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws also survive.

Preceded in death by her husband, Alex “Alie” Plut (2014); late husband (1950), Joseph Pudlik; parents, Anton and Theresa (nee Tezak) Papesh; two brothers, Anthony (Marilyn) Papesh and Ralph (Lorraine) Papesh; dear friend and “sister,” Mildred Peterson.

Dolores was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet. She attended St. Joseph Grade School, Joliet Central High School and Joliet School of Beauty. She was a member of KSKJ Lodge 29, Slovenian Union of America, St. Joseph Seniors and Joliet Seniors Association. Dolores was a licensed beautician for over 50 years working from her home beauty shop as well as Tezak Funeral Home and Kurtz Memorial Chapel. Dolores was famous for her cheese and nut potica, crocheted snowflakes, hand painted ceramics and her love inspired cooking skills that were passed on to her family. One of her greatest joys was her travels with Alie and their gang, including their beloved Point Breeze. Grandma Honey helped to positively influence three generations of family. Memories of treats, hugs and backrubs will never be forgotten. We take comfort in knowing that you will continue to shake the beads for all of us.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to her friend and caregiver, Debi Spesia as well as Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

Donations in Dolores’ name to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.

A celebration of Dolores’ life will begin on Saturday, September 23, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
