Virginia Ann (nee Welps) Roman, age 86, a resident of Maple Grove, MN and a former longtime resident of Plainfield, IL, passed away January 9th, 2018 in Robbinsdale, MN.  She was born on March 1st, 1931 in Chicago, IL.

Virginia is survived by her loving children, Linda (Tom) Krizmanic, Ed (Diane) Roman, Paul (Becky) Roman, and Barbara (Kris) Siejko; her cherished grandchildren, Michael (Carly McGillick) Krizmanic, Jason Krizmanic, and Lauren (Dr. Paul) Peña; Phyllis, John-Paul, Christy, and Eddie Roman; Nicholas and Baily Roman; Haywood, Zachary, and Wesley Siejko; great-grandsons Edward John Roman and Peter Paul Peña; her sisters-in-law, Lenore Romanchek and Eleanor Welps; and double cousin Dorothy Miller; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Roman; parents, Joseph and Anne (nee Schalowsky) Masse; brother, Joseph Welps; and brothers-in-law, Andrew and Richard Romanchek. 

Virginia was a graduate of Maria High School and retired from All-Steel after many years of service.  She loved to play cards, Chinese Checkers, was an avid reader, and was always there to support her children in their various activities. Virginia was a long-time member of St. Mary Immaculate Parish and will be sorely missed.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

A celebration of Virginia’s life will begin on Saturday, January 13, 2018 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:45 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Casimir Cemetery in Chicago. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
