Danica Grabavoy (nee Plecas), age 84, entered eternal life Sunday, December 2, 2012.

Survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Alexander Grabavoy Sr.; her children Denise Grabavoy (Rex) Denkmann, of Burr Ridge, IL, Alexandra (Dr. Timothy) McComas, of Las Cruces, NM, Gregory (Rebecca) Grabavoy of Darien, IL and Dr. Alexander (Marisue) Grabavoy Jr., of Shorewood, IL; grandchildren Danielle Denkmann, Gabrielle and Stephen McComas, Alayna (Matthew) Jarotkiewicz, Nika (Nicholas) Giuliano, and Christiana and Natalya Grabavoy; brother Samuel Plecas, of Mesa, AZ and sister Violet Enich, of Shorewood, IL.

Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Helen Plecas, of Des Moines, IA and brother Joseph Plecas, of Scottsdale, AZ.

Danica is a retired high school teacher with the Joliet High Schools. She was involved with children, as a teacher and mentor to youth; belonged to Will County WomenA�??s Credit Association. She always loved her Serbian heritage, history and the Orthodox faith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in DanicaA�??s name to charities of your choice for Orthodox associations or childrenA�??s charitable organizations.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at TezakA�??s Home to Celebrate Life from 3:00pm to 8:00 pm with a Pomen service beginning at 7:30 pm.

A funeral service for Danica Grabavoy will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church. She will lie-in-state from 9:30 am until the time of funeral service at 10:00 am. There will be no procession from the funeral home to the church. Graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet.
