Helen C. (Becker) WrobelJuly 24, 1930 ~ January 2, 2018 (age 87)
Helen C. (nee Becker) Wrobel, 87, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her longtime home at Winfield Woods Nursing Home after a long battle with Dementia.
Helen is survived by six children, David (Candy) of Shorewood, Robert (Pamela) of Morris, Joseph (Donna) of Fort Myers, FL, Cathy (Russ) Sorensen of Westmont, Stan of Salem, Massachusetts, and Richard (Lori) of Phoenix; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister, Bonnie (Paul) Toth of Joliet.
Preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Wrobel (2000); parents, Raymond and Dorothy (nee King) Becker Skeldon; and her brother, Donald Becker.
Helen was a longtime resident of Lockport and later of Port Richey and New Port Richey, FL.
She was a loving mother, a devoted student of spiritual advancement, an avid reader and enjoyed books about self-help, astrology and psychic phenomena. The anchor of Love in a sometimes-chaotic household of six kids, babysitters, pets and suburban flora and fauna, she always attended to her family’s needs, kept everyone fed even when the money got tight, and guided her children through their turbulent teenage years with aplomb, a steady hand and a loving heart. Helen was a sweet, generous, and wise soul, who was loved by everyone with whom she came into contact.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks those willing to give a donation to Transitions Hospice.
A celebration of Helen’s life will begin on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately.
