Allen A. Frankovich of Plainfield, age 72, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025 at Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care in Joliet while surrounded by his family after a long and valiant fight against cancer. He was born on September 24, 1953 to his father Anthony Frankovich and his mother Catherine Frankovich (née Capitino) in Joliet, IL.
Allen and Patricia were high school sweethearts, sharing many memories and building a family legacy together. Allen worked as a plumber/pipefitter and retired after 40 years of service, most recently with 28 years of service at the State of Illinois, Department of Corrections.
Allen was an avid hunter, fishermen, and golfer. He enjoyed time during hunts and skillfully captured a few trophies. He was always in the ongoing search to perfect his already strong golf game. He created many memories through all of his activities shared with family and friends.
He has been described as an old soul and was known as a kind, reliable, stoic figure — always calm and steady. He embodied a servant mindset; always there to support family and friends with any help they needed. He supported and loved his family with all his heart, as they were his most important achievement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony & Catherine.
Allen is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Frankovich (née Anderson); his children Kelly Vallone and Tony (Kirsten) Frankovich; his five grandchildren, Michael, Aubrey, Grace, Parker, and Lily; as well as his brothers, Gerald, James, & Thomas Frankovich.
In line with Allen’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be scheduled at a later date by his loving family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations made in Allen’s name be directed to either Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care at 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431 https://lightways.org/make-a-donation/ or the LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY® (now Blood Cancer United) at Attn: Donor Services P.O.
