Andrew Canlas Tardecilla

Andrew Canlas Tardecilla, age 51, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Affectionately known as Dre’, Drew, or Dan-D-Lion, Andrew was a devoted husband, loving and faithful father and papa, cherished friend, godfather (ninong), and a man who made a lasting impact on the lives of those around him.

Andrew’s love for God extended as he was a deacon at Mosaic Community Church where he served with a generous heart and genuine love. He also faithfully helped with the church’s video ministry, including creating and assisting with the “God at Work” videos that shared stories of how God was working in the lives of the church family. He was also a founder and longtime member of the "Barcada" family and a member of F3, where he was known as Dan-D-Lion. In the mid-2000s, he served as a moderator for the PBNation forum, reflecting his early passion for technology and online community. He worked at FinThrive and was proud to be a “techy” guy who enjoyed learning, solving problems, and staying connected.

Beyond his work and service, Andrew found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. He loved gardening, cheering on his family as a volleyball dad, trying new foods, and spending time with the people he loved. He was intentional about serving and loving others, always willing to lend a hand, share a laugh, or make someone feel welcomed. To many, he was a beloved godfather and friend; to his family, he was their steady source of love, faith, and devotion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Graciano and Angelina Tardecilla.

Andrew was married to his beloved wife, Leslie Vidad Tardecilla, for 31 years. Together, they built a life and family filled with love, faith, laughter, and countless memories. Also surviving his are his children, Adrielle (Kenneth), Annalise (Angelo), Alexander, Alyssa, and Abigail; and his beloved granddaughter, Angelina. He also leaves behind extended family, godchildren, friends, church family, and countless others whose lives he touched through his kindness, service, and love.

Andrew will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the people he loved, the lives he served, and the many memories he leaves behind. His faith, generosity, humor, and intentional love for others will forever remain a part of those who were blessed to know him.

A celebration of Andrew's life will begin with visitation from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd. Joliet, IL.

Visitation will continue on Saturday, October 3, 2025 from 8:30 am to 10:15 am at the funeral home and departing shortly after in procession for funeral services to begin at 11:00 am at Mosaic Community Church, 191 S Larkin Ave, Joliet, IL . Cremation will follow in accordance with his wishes.
