Ann Marie Cromwell (née Rumple), at rest on October 13, 2025. She was born to her father Ivan W. Rumple and Anna D. Rumple (née Byrne) in Joliet, IL.

Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She earned an Associate’s Degree from College of DuPage before accepting a position with Christian Brothers in Romeoville. She retired from Christian Brothers in 1993 after thirty-five years of loyal service. After her retirement, Anna volunteered her time at both the Saint Joseph Medical Center as well as The Joliet Area Community Hospice Center (now known as Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care). Anna was passionate about art and she was a lifelong member of the Chicago Art Institute.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Anna; her dear husband Maurice L. Cromwell; and her son Daniel Cromwell.

Anna is survived by her daughter Maureen (the late William) Sobczak; her son John Cromwell of California; and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Many other extended family members and other loved ones also survive.

The family would also like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff at Sunny Hill Nursing Home and Lightways Hospice for their compassionate care during the final days and weeks of Ann’s life.

A Graveside Interment Committal Service will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 23060 W. Jefferson St. Joliet, IL 60431 on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 11:00 am.
