Anton J. Semrov Sr., age 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 12, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Anton is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Rodney) French, Ann-Marie (Steve) Lieberman, Anton (Sophie) Semrov Jr. and Lou-Ann (Ryan) Keyser; grandchildren, Derby and Ella French, Dylan and Aria Lieberman, Wyland and Isaac Semrov, Lillian and Grace Rose Keyser; two sisters, Mary Catherine (the late Ronald) Ziesmer and Rosemary (Arthur) Kerkau; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rose (nee Kambic) Semrov.
Anton will be remembered as a loving father and proud grandfather. He worked as a machinist at Brinks Locking Systems in Shorewood, IL. Anton had a love for gardening, nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed volunteering his time at the Joliet Park District Bird Haven Green House. He was an avid reader and found joy in sharing his learnings and knowledge with others. Anton proudly served his county during the Vietnam War as a member of the 1st Infantry in the United States Army.

A celebration of Anton’s life will begin on Thursday, September 16, 2021 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
