Barbara Ann Clement “Rooster” (nee Baloy), age 71, entered God’s Heavenly Kingdom on Thursday, June 8, 2023, peacefully at her home in Jonesborough, TN from complications due to Vascular Dementia .
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Clayton “Clay” Clement; daughters, Katheryn (Jeff) Collingsworth of Kingsport, TN, Breanne (Adam) Calderoni of Burke, VA; numerous grandchildren; her brother, Frank Baloy; sisters, Olga Bowsher and Florence Ryan; sister-in-law, Colleen Baloy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen (nee Semplinski) Baloy; brothers, Lawrence and Michael Baloy; sisters, Sophie Cook, Helen Krumlinde, Evelyn O”Brien and Catherine Siron; brothers-in-law, Francis Bowsher, Robert Krumlinde, Jack Ryan, Paul Siron, Arthur Cook and Robert O’Brien.
Barbara graduated from Joliet Central High School, obtained her Associate Degree from Joliet Junior College and received her Bachelors in Education from Southern Illinois University. She then went on to teach at Galloway School in Channahon, IL for decades. After moving to Tennessee Barbara was employed at Kohl’s for ten years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to one of Barb’s favorite charities, “A Place to Bark.”
A celebration of Barbara’s life will begin on Friday, June 16, 2023 leaving from the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. and driving in procession to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Joliet for a funeral service to begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Panikhida service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Obituary and tribute will for Barbara are available at www.tezakfuneralhome.com.
