Joliet

Bettie J. Lustick (née Hopson), age 77, went to be with the Lord on July 16, 2026. She was born to her parents Leland Hopson and Ruth Hopson (née Suesens) in Burlington, Iowa on March 22, 1949.

Bettie was a 1967 graduate of Burlington High School and later attended Joliet Junior College. Her life was touched by tragedy when her first husband passed away at an early age in 1970. In 1973, she married Calvin Lustick and together they raised two daughters in Joliet. She was a member of the Croation Culture Club and a member of the St. Joseph’s Senior Society, and was an active parishioner of St. Joseph Church. She was a longtime employee of the Joliet Public Library and could be found every Sunday during the summer at St. Joe’s Park listening to music. She enjoyed shopping and visiting her hometown in Iowa, as well as simply sitting in the sun and visiting with friends. Bettie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents Leland and Ruth Hopson; her late husband Armand Ristinen; and her siblings Richard, Gary and Nancy Hopson.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years and caregiver Calvin Lustick; her daughters Angela (Rich) Babicki and Kim Lustick; grandchildren Jacob, Amber, and Ryan Vicic; sisters Linda (Ron) Peterson and Lori (Don) Jaeger; brother-in-law David (Margie) Lustick; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
