Betty Synowic (nee Kambic)

Age 90 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Aspen Woods Memory Care in Vernon Hills with her family by her side.

Born in Joliet, Betty was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Kambic. She was raised and educated in Joliet and worked as a General Supply Specialist for the federal government and after a lengthy and dedicated career, retired in 1983.

Betty is survived by her children: Linda (Jeff) Wilson, Paul (Ruth) Synowic and Jeffrey Synowic, and grandchildren: Madeline Wilson, Samuel (Kelly) Wilson and Dylan Synowic.

She is preceded in death by her parents: John and Elizabeth; husband of 60 years: Thaddeus “Ted” Synowic; four brothers: Robert, Walter, John and Bernard Kambic and sister: Marie Kambic.

A celebration of Betty’s life will begin on Monday, March 4, 2024 with a visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet.

On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, closing prayers will be offered in the funeral home chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. The funeral will then drive in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow and Betty will be laid to rest with her husband at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
