Carmen J. Astorino, age 83, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 with his loving family by his side.
Carmen was a proud United States Army Veteran, having honorably served his country with dedication and pride. Before retiring, Carmen enjoyed a successful career as a tax preparer with H&R Block in California, where he made lasting connections with colleagues and clients. His work ethic and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; parents, Carmen “Tom” and Margaret Astorino; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Carmen is survived by his sister, Dr. Anita M. “Aimee” Ogle D.N. and her husband, Gary R. Stonebraker; nephew, Mayor Keith H. (Kim) Ogle; nieces, Kelly (Brett) Wagner and Kristin (Nick) Yerkan; great nephew, Colton Keith Wagner; aunt, Jo; many cousins and friends.
A celebration of Carmen’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 with a visitation at Queen of Apostles St. Patrick Campus, 710 W Marion St, Joliet, IL 60436 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Per Carmen’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded following Mass. Interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at a later date. Obituary and tribute wall for Carmen are available at www.tezakfuneralhome.com.
