Catherine E. Partak (nee Marentic) ""Kate""

Age 89. At rest peacefully Friday September 2, 2011 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home in Joliet. Kate was born in Joliet and was a lifelong area resident. Kate retired in 1995 from the Joliet Grade School Dist. 86 after 15 years of dedicated service. She was employed by Syl"s restaurant for 20 years. She volunteered much of her free time to St. Joseph Church in Rockdale. Aside from her many hobbies, Kate loved to knit, crochet, and cook, and was well known for her Potica"s. Her family was the most important driving force in her life, and towards the latter part of her life, Kate"s greatest reward was the arrival of her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survived by 2 loving sons; Ron and Rich (Peggy) Partak, 4 grandchildren; Molly (David) McMillan, Ben (Raquel) Green, Rick Partak, and Bryan Partak; 2 great-grandchildren, Michael and Joseph McMillan; 2 sisters, Ann Tozzi, and Frances Dempsey. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Preceded in death by her husband of 40 years; Louis G. Partak (1982). Her parents; Joseph and Mary (nee Filak) Marentic; 3 sisters; Mary Menegon, Emma Figeira, and Helen Polesel; 3 brothers, Joseph, Anton, and Henry Marentic.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in her name, would be appreciated.

Funeral services for Catherine E. Partak will be held Wednesday September 7, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Joseph"s Church in Rockdale for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Private interment services will take place at later date.
