Chantel J. Sefcik

Chantel J. Sefcik, 62, passed away on September 25, 2026. Born in Altus, Oklahoma, Chantel was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. While her life touched many people, her family was always at the center of her heart.

Chantel was a woman who loved deeply and loved fiercely. She was the kind of mother who would give it to you straight, even when it wasn’t what you wanted to hear, but she would never let you face anything alone. She was always there to pick up the pieces, offer a helping hand, and remind you that you were loved. Her love wasn’t always quiet, but it was constant.

To know Chantel was to know how caring and generous she was. She had a way of giving so much of herself to the people she loved. She was silly and could make you laugh, but she also knew when it was time to be serious. She was incredibly kind, fiercely loyal, and, if you knew her well, you also knew she could be very stubborn. That stubbornness was simply part of who she was, and one of the many things her family will undoubtedly miss.

But there was one role Chantel treasured above all others, Grandma. She always said she liked being a mom, but she LOVED being a gamma

Her granddaughters, Teagan and Sophia, were her whole heart. She loved spending time with her “babies” and treasured every moment she got to spend with them. They brought her a kind of joy that was impossible to miss. She loved watching them grow, being part of their lives, and simply being their grandma. The love she had for those two little girls was enormous, and they will carry that love with them for the rest of their lives.

Chantel is survived by her beloved husband, Tony Sefcik; her daughter, Jenna (Robert) Miller; her mother, Thalia Koehler; her sister, Michel (Willie) Koehler; her brothers, Dodd and Clifton (Nichka) Koehler; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and her two granddaughters, Teagan and Sophia, whom she loved more than anything in this world.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ged; her grandmother, Thelma; her aunt, Judy; and her parents-in-law, Andrew and Barbara Sefcik.

For her family, Chantel’s absence will leave a space that can never truly be filled. There will be birthdays and holidays when they will wish she were there, ordinary moments when they will instinctively want to call her, and countless little things that will bring her back to mind. They will miss her advice, her stubbornness, her silliness, her generosity, and most of all, the love she gave so freely.

Although she is no longer here to hold her babies, make them laugh, or watch them grow, the love she gave Teagan and Sophia will remain a part of them forever. Her husband will forever remember his beloved “Doll,” the woman who shared his life, his heart, and so many precious memories with him. The love they shared was deep, genuine, and uniquely theirs, a love that will not end with her passing. Though he must now learn to live without her beside him, he will carry her love with him always, holding close every memory of his Doll and the life they built together. Her daughter will carry the lessons, love, and memories her mother gave her, and her granddaughters will grow up knowing just how deeply their Gamma loved them.

Chantel’s life was measured not by the things she had, but by the people she loved and the love she gave them. She leaves behind a family who was lucky enough to call her theirs and who will carry her memory, her stories, and her love with them always.

In honor of Chantel’s wishes, a private service will be held for family. Cremation rites will be accorded and Chantel’s remains will reside in the protective custody of her loving family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tezak’s Home to Celebrate Life.

She was loved deeply. She will be missed beyond words. And she will never be forgotten.
