Cheryl “Cherie” Klyzub
Cherie passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on October 12, 1964, Cherie lived a life defined by devotion to her family, her friends, and her deep love that she shared freely with all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Annie (Ryan) Nelson and Kristie Carvotta; and son, Kevin (Megan) Durbon. Her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren, Michael, Colton, Ryanne, Taylee, Cheyanne, Madison and Ava who lovingly knew her as the heart of the family. She is also survived by her brother, Steve (Pam) Klyzub; sister-in-law, Colleen Klyzub; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cherie was preceded in death by her parents, Arvid and Nellie Ann Klyzub; brothers, Mike and Paul Klyzub; and her lifelong friend and former husband, Kevin Durbon, the beloved father of her children.
She found joy in cooking, baking, and being surrounded by her grandchildren- often doing all three at once. Cherie’s warmth, generosity, and humor made every gathering brighter. Her resilience was an inspiration, especially following the gift of a lung transplant that gave her precious additional time to laugh, love, and make new memories. Her family will be forever grateful to the donor whose selfless act made that possible.
Cherie’s legacy is one of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of Cherie’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 6:00 p.m. to conclude the visitation.
