Age 94, at rest on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Salem Village.
Survived by her two daughters, Dorothy Janda and Rita (Michael) Matuszewski both of Joliet; her grandchildren Robert (Marla) Rommel of Aurora, Timothy (Karen) Matuszewski of Crest Hill, Susan (Thomas) Olson of Shorewood, Terrence (Barbara) Matuszewski of Joliet, her great-grandchildren Eric Rommel; Trent and Todd Matuszewski; Julie and Mary Matuszewski and Alex and Kristi Olson. Also survived by one sister-in-law, Cele Valek of Joliet; three brothers-in-law, Peter (Alice Matuszewski) of Morris, John Pelligrini and Seraphin Brish as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Albert ""George"" Matuszewski; her great-granddaughter, Hayley Matuszewski; her parents John and Mary Valek; two brothers, John (late Josephine) and Joseph Valek; three sisters, Anne (late Joseph) Zaworski, Marie (late Harold) Gannon and Helen (late William) Vorva; two brothers and one sister in infancy; two sisters-in-law, Sophie Pelligrini and Josephine Brish as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Christine was a long time member of St. Mary Nativity Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Nativity Church. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
