Connie Rae Verbic

Connie Rae Verbic (nee Hazel), 76, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. She was born July 20, 1945 in Bloomington, IL.

Connie was a graduate of Wilmington High School, class of ’63. A licensed beautician, she worked for many years in beauty supply retail before retiring in 2017. An avid Cubs fan, Connie was also a member of the Croatian Cultural Club and former Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Columbus #382. She took great pride in cooking and baking, always sharing with others everything which was made with love. Enjoying traveling and particularly fond of relaxing in Florida as well as luncheons with her class of ’63 and her afternoon cards with the gang, Connie’s greatest joy was spending time with her husband and children.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years Fred E. Jr. and her parents Richard and Audrey (nee Fasking).

Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Michael (Megan) and Mark (Janice); brother in law Donald (the late Lori); nieces: Katie (Paul) Fisher and Annie as well as many cousins.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. with chapel services beginning at 12:00 P.M. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet.  Per family wishes, cremation rites will follow.
