Donald Newcomb, age 84 at rest on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Center in Bolingbrook, IL.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Eileen (nee Rambow) Newcomb; children, Beth Ann Newcomb, Rebecca (Tom) Garcia, Stanley Newcomb, Connie Newcomb, Donna Etheridge, Karen Newcomb and Shannon (Linda) Newcomb; Eileen's children: Bill (Paula) Placher, John (Tami) Placher, Cheri Tilley (Ray, husband deceased), David (Dyana) Placher, Joe (Dawn) Placher, as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Hallie (nee Turner) Newcomb; siblings, Wayne, Willard, Gertie, Henry, Marion, Hazel, Orval, Betty and Winsel.

Donald was proud to serve in the United States Air Force from 1955-1963 as an Airman First Class. After his honorable discharge in '63, he worked as a prison guard at Statesville Prison until 1966. Over the numerous years he worked different jobs until he ended up at AMMCO Chemical Company for 15 years as a chemical engineer until he retired in 1999.

Donald was a loving dad, husband, and friend. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his favorite dog Ginger, who never left his side. He had a great sense of humor with his dad jokes and one liners, often annoying his loving wife Eileen. He took pride in his home and truly was a master of all trades.

A celebration of Donald’s life will begin on Friday, July 22, 2022 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will full military honors.
