Donald Joseph “Corn” Suhadolc, age 66, passed away peacefully at home after a brief and courageous battle with brain cancer.
Corn was born on June 23, 1957, in Joliet, IL to Frederick and Elizabeth (nee Sluka) Suhadolc. He graduated from St. Joseph Grade School and later from Lockport Township High School. He was employed as a laborer out of Local #25; working many years for Piazza Masonry, Lockport, IL. He later was employed by the County of Will at the River Valley Justice Center, Maintenance Department.
Corn is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Paula (Gabrys); two sons, Donald (Emily Cimino) and Gabriel (Sara Tincher); his cherished grandson, Theodore; his canine companions and numerous family and friends.
Corn is preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Frank and Fran (Blahunka) Gabrys; and numerous family and friends.
In his spare time, Corn enjoyed fishing, gardening, and family game nights, especially Euchre and Parcheesi. Corn loved sitting in his backyard having a cold beer and cheap cigar, with the Allman Brothers playing in the background.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Lightways Hospice, who took such loving care of Don during his final weeks at home.
Memorial donations in his name may be made to Lightways Hospice.
Per Donald’s wishes a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
