Donna Mae Briski, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026.
Born on January 26, 1942, at the old St. Joe’s Hospital, in Joliet, Illinois, Donna brought joy and laughter to those fortunate enough to know her throughout her life. Donna kept mostly to herself, but if you got her to open up to you she had a wonderful and amusing personality. She was a kid at heart, always, her entire life. She got much enjoyment out of the simple things in life. Donna could certainly make anybody laugh. You never knew what she was going to say and often times had no filter.
Donna would love a good box of caramels from Dan’s Candies. It wouldn’t take long until the whole box was empty. She also loved tootsie rolls and just about anything sweet. She had her favorite TV shows that she insisted must be watched in the same order each day. She was a huge Elvis fan and absolutely loved his music. She could not get enough Elvis. Most of all Donna loved her family. Her mother and father took care of her and gave her the best life they could and a nice home. And when they were gone her sister Diane made sure, she was well taken care of.
She loved visits from her nephew, John. They would play many games like matching cards or chalkboard, listen to music on the record player, and laugh and talk about anything. And she absolutely adored her great niece Bella. She was so proud of her and loved the time they got to spend together. She always asked about what Bella was up to. Later in life Donna gained more extended family & friends through Trinity Services. The people at Trinity were truly a blessing and loved Donna very much. And most recently Lakewood Nursing Home who cared for her up to the end. We are grateful for all of the wonderful souls that we have met along the way.
Donna is survived by her sister Diane (Michael) Metesh, nephew John (Catherine) Metesh, and great niece Isabella Metesh.
She is preceded in death by her father John Briski and mother Genevieve Briski.
Donna touched many lives and left many lasting impressions.
Donna will forever live on in our hearts and memories. We love you, Donna.
Funeral services will be held privately. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, IL.
