Douangchanh Douangchampa
Age 88 of Joliet, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 8, 2023 with his family by his side.
He was born on February 2, 1935 in a northern village in Laos. At a young age Douangchanh joined the Lao Royal Army. Unfortunately, his unit was captured and put into a concentration camp. In 1982, Douangchanh and his family arrived in Joliet, Illinois, where he has been a resident ever since. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Douangchanh is survived by his wife: Champa; six children: Deuane, Dao, Dom, Tick, Talk and La, and five grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a Laotian service on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
