Frank “Butch” Pavlich, beloved husband of Pamela Pavlich, devoted father, grandfather, and faithful Catholic, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, at the age of 89, surrounded by his loving family. Frank and Pamela shared more than 51 years of marriage, a partnership rooted in love, loyalty, and faith inspiring all who know them.
Frank proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Korean War Era, carrying the discipline and courage, with him throughout his life. After his service, he began his career with the Department of Defense in Joliet. During his early years of employment, he also completed his bachelor’s degree at Northwestern University. Frank later relocated to Denver, where he continued his career with the Department of Interior. Frank retired after more than 30 years of government service, earning the admiration of colleagues and friends for his commitment to public service.
After retiring from the government, Frank and Pamela settled in Port Orange, Florida, where he began a second career as a Tax Advisor. Together, they were devoted members of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
Frank, alongside his wife, enjoyed mountain climbing, running marathons, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Pamela; his son, Gregory (Kathleen); and his grandson, Nicklas (Alora). He is also survived by his sisters, Nancy (the late Raymond) and Antonette (the late Corey); his sister-in-law, Sharon (Richard); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lillian Spota and stepfather Tony Spota, and his father Frank Pavlich.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church nativity room, 706 Broadway St, Joliet, IL Funeral Mass will be held following visitation at 10:00 a.m. Frank will be laid to rest following mass with military honors scheduled for 12:30 pm at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery ,20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL, Illinois.
