Frederick J. Malsky III of Channahon, IL passed away unexpectedly at the age of 48 on September 17, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet, IL.
He was born to the late Frederick J. Malsky Jr. and Rita J. Malsky (née Fazio) in Joliet, IL on March 25, 1976.
Whether you knew him as “Fritz”, “Fritzie”, or “Fritter” one thing was certain, he was going to greet you with a warm smile and invite you to sit down and share some time together. A lifelong Channahon resident, Fritz truly loved being social, becoming fast friends with so many people in the Will County area. He spent nearly thirty years working as a custodian with the Channahon School District and was an active member and officer of the Southside Civic Club in Joliet, participating in their many charitable activities. He also served as the Area 36 Vice President for the Illinois Licensed Beverage Association of Will/Grundy County. In his recreational time, he enjoyed spending time with friends, getting in a round of golf, and rooting for the White Sox, Blackhawks, and the Chicago Bears.
With a heart of gold, he was always willing to give, whether through acts of kindness, a shoulder to lean on, or even buying a round. Fritz’s humor, great spirit, and the love he had for all his family and friends will truly be missed.
Fritz was preceded in death by his father, Frederick “Pa Fritz” Malsky, his brother Jason “Moose” Malsky; maternal grandparents: Chuck and Sophie Fazio, and paternal grandparents: Fritz and Nina Malsky.
He is survived by his loving mother Rita Malsky (née Fazio), sister-in-law Amanda Malsky, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and countless dear friends, too numerous to mention individually.
