Genevieve L. Getson

Genevieve Lillian Getson (nee Tusek), age 92, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Villa Franciscan in Joliet, IL

Genevieve is survived by her 3 children, Jeanne (the late Paul) Sarcletti, Doug Getson and
Diane (Dave) Picco; four grandchildren, Chris (Ivy) Sarcletti, Jenny (Corey) McQuade,
Scott (Carly) Picco and Julie Picco; 5 great-grandchildren, Christian, Landon, Grayson and
Kamden McQuade and Hugo Sarcletti; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Genevieve is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Willian Getson (2005); parents, Marko (1935) and Helen (1987) (nee Brenc) Tusek; 3 sisters, Helen Tusek (1948), Therese (Edward) Mihelic (1969)
and Ann (Leonard) Fumagalli (2012); and one son-in-law, Paul Sarcletti (2020).

Genevieve was a lifelong resident of Joliet, and relocated to Rotunda West Florida
where Bill and Gen enjoyed 20 wonderful years of retirement.  They returned to Joliet
in 2004 to be closer to family.

In 2016 Genevieve moved to Willow Falls, in Crest Hill, IL.  and in 2020 she moved to
Villa Franciscan, Joliet, IL.

Genevieve graduated from St Francis Academy High School in Joliet IL. She was employed
at Illinois Bell Telephone Company, and County Club Cleaners in Joliet IL.

Donations to The Alzheimer Association would be greatly appreciated.

We would like to thank the staff at Villa Franciscan in Joliet IL, who cared for our mom,
as well as Dr. Bhavesh Gandhi and his staff who treated her with great kindness and
compassion.

Per Genevieve’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation or funeral home services.
