Gerald R. “Jerry” Antich of Joliet, age 88 of Bolingbrook, IL passed away on April 23, 2026. He was born the son of Anthony Antich and Rose Antich (née Bahorich) in Joliet, IL on November 6, 1937.
Jerry was raised and educated in Joliet, IL. He graduated from Joliet Township High School in the Class of 1955. In September of 1961 he was inducted into the United States Air Force. He served honorably until September of 1963 earning a Good Conduct Medal, and a Letter of Commendation for his service to our nation. After active duty, Jerry wanted to apply his efforts toward assisting his fellow military veterans. He enjoyed a long career working for the Veteran’s Affairs Department as a computer programmer until his retirement. Jerry was fiercely independent throughout his entire life. He was always willing to help others, but rarely willing to ask for help for himself. He loved his extended family dearly and will always be remembered fondly.
He was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Rose; as well as his brother Eugene Antich.
Jerry is survived by his nephews Nick (Lety) Antich and James (Toni) Antich; and his nieces Lisa (Tom) Leclercq and Anne (Larry) Loftis. Many other extended family members also survive.
Gerald will be laid to rest with his fellow military veterans at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W Hoff Rd. Elwood, IL in a Committal Service with full military honors on Tuesday May 19, 2026 at 11:00 am. All attendees are required to arrive at the cemetery no later than 10:45 am as services will start promptly at 11:00 am.
