Harold "Jack" Rasmussen

Harold “Jack” Rasmussen, age 78, 2022, at rest on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 with his beloved wife by his side.

Jack is survived by his wife Georgene (nee Velemir); daughters, Kim (Steve) Ingles, Kelly (James) Basye, Carol (Terry) Bielfeldt and Cathleen “Kate” (Kent) Robinson; stepson, Derek (Tracy) Kula; sister, JoAnn Nahas; nephews, J.P. (Becky) Rasmussen, Nick (Kellie) Nahas, Stephen (Rebecca) Nahas and Robert “Bob” Heinzel; nieces, Judy (Rod) Connelly, Jennifer (Joe) Turkos, Marion Heinzel and Karen (Tom) Dengler; mother-in-law, Lois M. Velemir; sisters-in-law, Barbara “Boots” Rasmussen, Janet K. (Michael) Brown and Mary L. (Barre) Velemir; brother-in-law, Keith W. (Tina) Velemir; Deborah and Tom Heinzel; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his father, Harold J. Rasmussen; mother, Helene (nee Heinzel); brother, Dr. James E. Rasmussen; brother-in-law, Rodger J. Nahas; grandson, Michael Geil; and father-in-law, George L. Velemir; Nancy Slick; and Dr. Paul Heinzel.

Jack was a proud member of the Pipefitter Local #597. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. Jack also enjoyed Civil War History and being a part of Civil War reenactments throughout the area. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Jack’s life will begin on Thursday, October 6, 2022 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family invites relatives and friends to join them on Friday, October 7, 2022 at the funeral home for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until prayers in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet.
