Harry E. McMurray
May 6, 1925 — April 24, 2015
Harry E. McMurray, age 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2015 with his loving family close by his side.
Harry is survived by his loving daughter Hope; Papa to Shannon, Maggie May, Katy, Deanne, Jake, Garilinn, Will "lil one," and several others; brother to Rose, Virginia and many others.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife Ellie, parents Harry and Mary.
Harry was a proud United States Army Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, specializing in parachute assault operations into denied areas.
He proudly dedicated 50 years of service to St. Bernard Catholic Church.
A celebration of Harry's life will begin on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 with a visitation at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Joliet from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Per Harry's wishes cremation rite will be accorded following Mass. Inurnment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full military honors at a later date.
