Helen Zawacki (nee Bogacz) passed peacefully on Monday, Oct 14, 2013.
Helen is survived by her beloved son, Donn (Nancy); her grandchildren, Michelle (Ted) Brown, and Jeffrey (Dawne); her great-grandchildren, Zach and Katie Brown, and Ben and Alex Zawacki, nieces, nephews, and in-laws also survive.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe and twin brother, Steve.
Helen was a secretary at Western Electric. She enjoyed volunteering, crocheting, and traveling. Her friends knew her as the ""candy lady"".
A Celebration of Helen's life will begin on Friday, October 18, 2013 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 a.m. then moving in procession to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet.
