Jacinto "Jack" Chua

Jacinto “Jack” Chua, joined our Savior on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois. Jack was born on September 6, 1954 to the late Chua Peng Toan and Regina Go. He was the 2nd youngest of 5 children, 1 preceded him in death. Jack also has 6 other half siblings. Jack graduated in FEU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a successful businessman who owned and managed his own company for almost 50 years.

Mr. Chua and his wife moved to Illinois in 2006 and worked multiple jobs, enjoying their time together while supporting each other.

Jack was an active member and catechist of the Neo-Catechumenal Way since 1993. He was God-fearing, generous, hospitable, and kind — always happy by nature. Jack loved life and has lived it with a strong faith amidst his pancreatic cancer, up to his last few moments.

Jack is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 49 years, Norma Banting; daughter Jill and her husband Leven, grandchildren Nicole, Nathan, Lyle and Lance, great-grandchild Taron Jr.; son Jared and his wife Trixie, grandchildren, Marcus, Julio, Agatha, Jackie, Steven, Augustine, Ian, Iggy, Isaac and Francis; son Jake and wife Maan, grandchildren Usher, Faith, L.E., Cesca, Georgina, Cisco, Euen, Maritza, Xavier and Marciela; daughter Jane and her husband Alvin, grandchildren Aaron, Aidan and Naomi; son Jeff and wife Ram, grandchildren Joaquin, Renee, Natalia, Matthias and Lima. He also has many nieces and nephews as well as friends and was well-loved by his brothers and sisters in the Way.

With God’s grace and mercy, Jack has fulfilled his mission as a Christian.

A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road Joliet from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
