Jacqueline A. Tucci (née Adler) of Crest Hill, age 68, passed away peacefully in her home while surrounded by members of her loving family on September 2, 2025. She was born to her father Joseph L. Adler and mother Joanne M. Adler (née Biddle) in Joliet, IL on April 15, 1957.
Jackie was a lifelong resident of Joliet and Crest Hill. She graduated from St. Francis Academy High School as a member of the class of 1975. She spent much of her career working alongside her parents at the family business, Fountainview, and later enjoyed many years working alongside good friends at “The Sandwich Shoppe”, in downtown Joliet.
Jackie’s faith was her guiding light in life. She was devoted to teaching and sharing her love of Christ with everyone, but especially with children. Although not a teacher by trade, she was a teacher at heart. As a faithful member of Pathway Church, formerly Joliet Christian Fellowship, she taught Sunday school for over 30 years which was pivotal in the lives of these children. For the past few years she has led a young Christian mom’s bible study, inviting them and their children into her home. Jackie also thoroughly enjoyed her fellowship with her dear friends, the “Sassy Soul Sisters”.
She always saw the very best of each person’s potential and believed firmly that a strong relationship with Christ could and would allow that potential to shine. She was an attentive, caring, and devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed life daily and her contagious laugh and bright smile never failed to spark joy in the people with whom she shared her life. For large family gatherings, Jackie could always be counted on to formulate the perfect agenda to bring all together with fun and laughter, spreading their love with the people around them. She never failed to use her natural skills for compassion and patience to help foster a stronger understanding of the gift that is living life. She was always willing to sacrifice of herself for others, often volunteering as a caregiver to those in need. She cared for relatives, friends, and members of her faith community as though they were her own children, and she cared for her children and grandchildren as though they were the most precious gifts ever given. She loved nature, often watching the birds and critters visit her backyard retreat. From an early age, painting landscapes and nature scenes in her spare time was a love of hers.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Jodie Adler, her sister Margaret Mary Adler in infancy, her brother Michael Ward Adler, her sisters-in-law Patty Adler and Joanne Tucci, and her brother-in-law Daniel Tucci.
Jackie is survived by her loving husband of forty-nine years Samuel Tucci III, her sons Samuel (Andrea) Tucci IV, Anthony Tucci, and Jeffrey (Annika) Tucci; her grandchildren Samuel V and Peter; her mother-in-law Shirley (the late Sam Jr.) Tucci; her siblings Daniel Adler (Nancy Brandt), Teddy (Ray) Adler Finney, Chris (Lori) Adler, Jay Adler (Gina Parrish); in-laws Joanne Adler, Pam (Jim) Allocco, John (the late Joanne) Tucci, Mark Tucci, Mary Kay (Evan) Dale, Greg (Mary Ann) Tucci, and Dawn Tucci; and a loving Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
