James was born in Joliet, Illinois to the late Mary T. (nee Ventura) and Frank J. Grobarcik.
He is survived by his "wife" life partner, Karen L. Johnson; daughter, Julie A. (Fred) Rositch; grandson, James Rositch; sisters, Carol (Ron) Aeschilman and Betty (Fred) Nahas. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
