Jeta Joan Lowry
Age 88 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet.
Born August 8, 1934 in Bluford, Illinois, Jeta Joan was a daughter of Ray and Mabel (Case) Cates. For almost 50 years she was married to her husband, Arlie Lowry. Together they made a home and raised their three children: Sharon, Edward (her favorite of the three) and Brian.

While raising her family and taking care of the home, she loved cooking, baking, and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. Jeta was a God fearing woman of faith and lived her life as an example to her family and friends. Her memory and precious family stories will live on through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately called her Granny. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Jeta was preceded in death by her husband: Arlie who passed away in 2001; parents: Ray and Mabel; two brothers: Glenn Cates and Robert (Jackie) Cates, and one sister: Rosemary (Loren) Williams.
She is survived by her daughter: Sharon (Dan) Piper of Joliet, and sons: Edward (Angie) Lowry of Romeoville and Brian (Carol) Lowry of Florida; grandchildren: Wesley (Jaime) Hawkins of Des Moines, WA, Bradley (Shannon) Hawkins of Land O’ Lakes, FL, Kate Lowry (Kari Hintze) of Chicago, Casey (Kailee) Lowry of Joliet, and Patrick (Katie) Lowry of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren: Jordan, Elizabeth, David, Christopher, Damian, Joshua, Isaiah, Levi, and Peter Hawkins; nephew: Ronnie Williams; close family friend: Kathy (Bill) Ross; step-grandchildren: Alejandro, David and Brenda Puga of Mexico and Siomara Puga of Plainfield, and step-great-grandchildren: Cristhian, Alexey, Andrey, Dereck, and Carolina Puga, and Vanessa, Alberto and Fernando Cano.
