Joel James Sieracki, 59, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
He attended St Mary Magaline and Joliet Catholic High School class of 1984.
He is survived by his loving parents, James and Margot Sieracki, who were the cornerstone of his life. He is also survived by his aunt Rose White and her husband David, aunts Jane Sieracki and Carol Johnson, numerous cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews, and his beloved life partner, Donna Farber. Joel also leaves behind his friend Heather Franks and many dear friends, including his model train club companions Tim Alund and Bryan Moran. He is also survived his lifelong best friend Paul Turnbough, with whom he shared many fond memories, including their early days working at McDonald’s in New Lenox.
He was preceded in death by his brother Jeffrey Sieracki, uncles Bill and Joe Sieracki, aunts Mary Welch, Yvonne Blackford, and Ruth Williams.
Joel was a man of many interests and hobbies. He was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan and a die-hard Chicago Cubs supporter. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and bicycle rides. He also had a deep passion for music, having performed as a vocalist in the band Rat Salad. A dedicated train enthusiast, Joel collected model trains, photographed real trains, and was an active member of the Elmhurst Model Railroad Club.
For over 30 years, Joel worked diligently as a manager at Liberty Flag, where his work ethic and leadership were admired by colleagues and customers alike. Joel will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, quiet humor, and the deep love he held for his family, friends, and hobbies.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Joel’s memory.
A memorial visitation in honor of Joel’s life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish – St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, located at 201 S. Briggs Street, Joliet, IL. A Funeral Mass will follow immediately at 11:30 a.m. Cremation rites have been accorded.
