Age 98. At rest September 13, 2008 at Silver Cross Hospital with his family by his side. Born October 23, 1909 in Joliet and a life-long resident. Retired from Meadow Gold Dairy and Don's Body Shop of Crest Hill.
Survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) (nee Chromek); three children, Don (Rita), John ,Jr., and Diane (Bill) Madigan; seven grandchildren, Denise Boudreau, Kathy (Steve) Scent, Don (Kris) Slaboszewski, Debbie (Tim) Walsh, David (Peggi) Slaboszewski, Pam (Bob) Reichenbach, and Daniel (Barbara) Sheridan; also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his son, Eugene (2008), Sandy Slaboszewski; and their twin babies, Jacqueline and Eugene (1957); also an infant great-granddaughter, (Erin Walsh in 1993); his parents, Joseph and Frances (Kozlowski) Slaboszewski; seven brothers, Frank, Edward, Walter, Leo, Joseph, Alex and Charles; three sisters, Helen Weier, Florence Gregurich, and Dorothy Galle.
John enjoyed reading, fishing, bowling, traveling and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He was also a life-long member of the Moran Athletic Club. John will be truly missed by his entire family.
From where services will be held Friday, September 19, 2008 at 9:30 AM to Holy Cross Church, 828 Elizabeth Street in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3 - 8 pm.
