Joseph A. Hinojosa
Age 72 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at his home with his family by his side.
Born July 13, 1951 in Texas, Joseph was a son of Sabas and Josefina (Mosqueda) Hinojosa. He earned his G.E.D. education and worked as a mechanic and supervisor for the City of Joliet for a number of years until retirement. Joseph was a devoted family man who also loved all of his fur babies. In his free time, he enjoyed watching Nascar races and rooting for the Chicago Cubs. Joseph will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife: Susie (Pena) Hinojosa; children: Gidget Hinojosa, Stella (Abel) Meija and Anthony Hinojosa; godson: Aaron Aguirre; grandchildren: Gabriel & Yesenia Hinojosa, and Ethan, Sebastian, Julian and Isabella Mejia; great-grandchildren: Aiden and Anastasia; siblings: Mary Rodriguez, Connie (Henry) Villafranco, Robert and Carlos Hinojosa, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents: Sabas and Josefina; brother: Jesse (Francis) Hinojosa, and niece: Michelle Hinojosa.
Per Joseph’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a memorial visitation on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet.
