Mrs. Joyce Estelle Williams

Age 93 of Crest Hill, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at her home with family by her side.

She was born and raised in Pasadena, California. After attending Aurora University, she married and resided in Plainfield, where she raised her children. She worked at the Plainfield School District, Hartford Insurance, and retired from Christian Brother Services.

Joyce reunited later in life with her high school sweetheart, Elwood Williams, and returned to reside in California until Elwood’s passing in 2019. She then returned to Illinois to be close to her family.

Survivors include her two daughters and their spouses: Karen and Tom Hartley, and Sandy and Jayme Speva; one son and his spouse: Steve and Barb Mauer; seven grandchildren: Jeff (Barb), Julie (P.J.), Amanda, Michael, Bryan (Ashley), Matthew, Scott (Holly), and ten great-grandchildren.

Joyce is preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, brother and sister-in-law, nephew and twin great grandchildren. 

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a kind soul who cherished her family and friends genuinely. Joyce will be missed deeply by all who knew her.

A private family memorial service will be held to celebrate Joyce’s life at a later date.
