Judith Marie Stockstill, 71, passed peacefully, surrounded by family members early on Sunday, March 17, 2024.
Judy was the loving mother of Jeffrey Stockstill (Susan), Matthew Stockstill and Jennifer Coop (David), and dearest grandmother of Hunter, Siena, Olivia and James. She is survived by one brother, Joseph (Gayle), as well as a number of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother (Lorraine J. Strmec) and father (Joseph A. Strmec).
Judy was born in Joliet, Illinois, on June 26, 1952, and resided in Germantown, Tennessee since 1982. She graduated from North Central College in Naperville, IL in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. She earned her Medical Technologist certification from Loyola University in 1974 and worked in both Chicago, Illinois and Dallas, Texas. After having children, she devoted her life to raising and caring for them. She was an avid gardener, loved cooking, and enjoyed conversing with friends. She valiantly battled cancer for 26 years with grace, fortitude, and positivity. She had a special talent for finding humor in even the toughest of situations and was always there with a helping hand, a listening ear, or a comforting word to those in need. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
A celebration of Judy’s life will begin with a visitation at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis, TN from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2024 followed by a service at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Germantown, TN from 10-11 am on Friday, March 22, 2024. The celebration of her life will continue with a visitation at Tezak’s Funeral Home ,1211 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, Illinois on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 9:00 am-12:00 pm, chapel services will begin at 12:00 pm and interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet, Illinois.
