Julianne " Julie" Blackburn

July 11, 1957 — November 9, 2023

Julie Blackburn, 66, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 9, 2023 in Joliet, Illinois. She was born on July 11, 1957, in Joliet and was the daughter of the late Earl and Phyllis Colwell. She was raised and educated in Joliet and graduated from St. Francis Academy with the class of 1975.

Julie was a wonderful woman, full of life and energy. She worked locally as a dental assistant for over 20 years. Very passionate about her job she became a familiar face to many Joliet residents. Beyond her career, Julie had a deep love for life's pleasures. She enjoyed traveling and had a great appreciation for music. But her greatest joy was found in the company of her family and friends. Julie's infectious enthusiasm for life created countless cherished moments and lasting bonds with those fortunate enough to share in her presence.

Julie is survived by her loving husband: Dennis Blackburn; sons: Adam (Shaun) Blackburn, Trevor (Savannah) Blackburn and beloved granddaughter Effie Blackburn. She was also aunt to many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Per Julie’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
