Kenneth Mack Hutchins

Kenneth Mack Hutchins, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

Kenneth was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved bowling, fishing, gardening, and NASCAR, and was a proud season ticket holder at Chicagoland Speedway. He was also a longtime member of the Ingalls Park Athletic Club, where he formed many lasting friendships and remained active well into his later years.

Kenneth worked as a boiler room engineer at Ivex Corporation and retired from the company in 2007. Retirement, however, did not slow him down. He went on to work as a janitor at the Ingalls Park Athletic Club, a position he held until retiring at the age of 82.

He was known for his hard-working nature and his willingness to stay busy. Kenneth was also an avid aluminum can collector. He took great pride in collecting cans and, with his sledgehammer, would smash them down himself.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol (nee Jadron) Hutchins; his parents, Kent and Flora Ellen (nee Cole) Hutchins; and his siblings, Paul Hutchins, Larry Hutchins, and Linda (nee Hutchins) Dove.

He leaves behind his children, Amy (Ronald) Krisik and Denise (David) Erickson; his grandchildren, Brooke Manikowski and Jennifer (Roger) Moreno; and his siblings, Loney Fred (Joan) Hutchins, Gary (Thelma) Hutchins, Barbara Lane, and J.W. Hutchins. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Shelby Hutchins, along with extended family and friends who will cherish the memories they shared with him.

Cremation rites will be in accordance with his wishes.
