Kristine M. (Mrozek) Sargent

Kristine Marie Sargent (nee Mrozek), age 54, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2020 with her loving family by her side.

Kristine is survived by her daughter, Samantha Jo Sargent; mother, Shirley A. Day; longtime friend, Sheila Morgan; and many extended family and friends that will miss her dearly.

Preceded in death by her father, Denis R. Mrozek; step-father, Paul R. Day; grandparents, Frank and Quintilla Ketz.

Kris’ zest for life was apparent to anyone who met or knew her, from her blinged out outfits to her phone full of pictures and experiences; there was no doubt that she loved life and lived life to the fullest. The only thing Kris loved more was her daughter, Samantha. Spending time with Sam and her mom gave her the most joy.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family or the American Lung Association would be appreciated.

Please feel free to bring a photo of yourself and Kris to the visitation. Write a memory or story on the back of the picture to share with the family. All photos will be given to her daughter Samantha to look at and read as she heals.

A celebration of Kristine’s life will begin on Friday, October 23, 2020 with a visitation a Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will continue on Saturday, October 24, 2020 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill. Due to Covid19 restrictions, maximum occupancy at the funeral home and church is 50 guests at a time. Face coverings are required.
