Lawrence Alan Wlodarek
Age 78 of Crest Hill, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at home with his family by his side.
Born July 20, 1943 in Chicago, Larry was a son of Joseph and Emily (nee Pienias) Wlodarek. He was raised and educated in Chicago and went on to work for Dominick’s Finer Foods for over 25 years until retiring. Larry was an avid fisherman and was happiest out on the water waiting for his next big catch. He will be most remembered for his love and want to help people, regardless of if it was family, friends, neighbors or a complete stranger, he cared for everyone that crossed his path. Larry will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years: Mary (nee Mathis) Wlodarek; cherished father to: Michael (Jennifer) Wlodarek and Deborah Sheehan (nee Wlodarek); devoted grandfather to: Joseph Wlodarek; caring brother to: Diane (Charles) Cummings, Terence (Karen) Wlodarek and Melanie (James) Novak, as well as an adored uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Emily, and son: Alan Wlodarek.
Family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. A celebration of Larry’s life will continue on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 with a short visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of closing prayers beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. The funeral will then process together for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow and Larry will be laid to rest at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Justice.
