Lois M. Delaney

Lois M. Delaney (nee Schwab), age 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2022.

Lois is survived by her sons, Robert A. (Suzanne Descourouez) Delaney and Gary L. (Kathy) Delaney; grandchildren, Bradley (Amanda Noel) Delaney, Kevin (Renee) Delaney and Michael Delaney; great-grandchildren, Carter Delaney, Michelle and Grant Delaney; sister-in-law, Helen Schwab; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Delaney (2014); parents, Henry and Josephine (nee Welz) Schwab; grandson, Robert J. Delaney (2016); siblings, Henrietta (Clarence) DuBien, Marie (Blis) Carey, Frances (Robert) Hahn, Robert Schwab, Irene (Howard) Baumann, Florence (Herbert) Spencer, Rita (George) Mitchell, Henry “Skip” (Sue) Schwab, Richard “Dick” (Lou) Schwab and Louise (Bob) Powers.

Lois retired from the Will County Courthouse as Secretary after 16 years of service. She loved working at Delaney’s Greenhouse for over 30 years, a wonderful business she and her husband established in the 1980’s. Lois was an amazing cook, she loved hosting family dinners and the food she prepared will never be forgotten. Lois had an outstanding sense of humor and never lost her wit. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lois’ name to Lightways Hospice would be appreciated.

A celebration of Lois’ life will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 with a memorial visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately at a later date at Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet.
