Lucy A. (Vallera) McDonald

Lucy A. McDonald (nee Vallera), age 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2022.

Lucy is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Jack McDonald; three children, Kelly (Jim) Walker, Chris McDonald, Jackie (Tom) Tezak; grandchildren, Brandon Walker and Jill Tezak; great-granddaughter, Madilynn Tezak; sister-in-law, Frieda Vallera; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Cesideo and Nancy (nee Petrella) Vallera; grandson, Scott Tezak (2011); brothers, Americo Vallera, Al (Dorothy) Vallera and Tony (Nancy) Vallera.

Lucy was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Jude Catholic in New Lenox. She always had a strong faith and happily made herself present in her family’s lives. She loved being involved with her children and grandchildren and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Lucy will be truly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lucy’s name to Trinity Services would be appreciated.

A celebration of Lucy’s life will begin on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 with a visitation at St. Jude Catholic Church in New Lenox, 241 W 2nd Ave, New Lenox, IL 60451 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.
