Lynda Rohr-Worst, 75, of Shorewood, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, surrounded by her children Tana, Ken, and Kaitlyn, and her close friend, Char (Ron) Mionske.
Lynda, a lifelong resident of Will County, graduated from Joliet West in 1968. She spent countless hours volunteering, including at the local Exchange Club. Her passion for animals was profound—she cared for animals throughout her life. Lynda also enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought her joy, especially camping and spending time with friends playing bingo at the Moose Lodge #300 of Joliet.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 30 years, James Worst; her parents, Louis and Ethel VanDenBerg; her lifelong friend Kathy (Gene) Fordonski, and other cherished family members and friends.
Lynda’s memory will forever live on through her children: Tana (John) DeYoung (née Briick), Ken Briick, and Kaitlyn (Todd) Copi (née Worst). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Amanda Martey (née Briick), Kaitlin Frohn, Josh Cowan, Nate Cowan, Zach Cowan, Louis Copi, and his soon-to-arrive baby brother. Lynda cared deeply for her brother Dennis VanDenBerg (Elaine), several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Lynda’s life will be held on Sunday November 23, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Moose Lodge #300, 25 Springfield Ave, Joliet, IL Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements entrusted to Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435
