Mando Michael Di Bartolomeo III, 66, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025. He was born in Joliet, IL to Mando Di Bartolomeo Jr. and Lillian Di Bartolomeo (née Papesh) on August 12, 1959.
Mando grew up surrounded by the energy and closeness of a big family. As a kid in East Joliet, he could often be found in the backyard playing one-on-one football with his brothers — a simple joy that reflected his competitive spirit and love of being together. Mando was a proud graduate of Joliet Catholic High School, Class of 1978, and he dedicated 46 years of hard work and loyalty to Albertson’s. A diehard White Sox and Bears fan, he loved watching games, talking sports, and cheering on his teams through every season. He found happiness in being outdoors and traveling around the United States, with a special fondness for the culture and energy of New Orleans. At home, he enjoyed cooking for the people he loved — and he swore by his spaghetti sauce, a recipe he perfected over the years.
Mando was a longtime and proud member of Knights of Columbus #4400, achieving the honor of 4th Degree Knight. He was also a devout Catholic and a dedicated parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he lived his faith through service, community, and steady commitment.
He is survived by his children Christina (Justin) and Mando IV; his brothers Francis (Irma), Anthony (Beth), Joseph, and Gerald (Sandra); his aunt Judy; his first cousin once removed Sister Albert Marie; and his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Mando, who welcomed him home with love.
