Manuel J. Tamayo, 80, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023
He was a carman at EJ&E Railroad for 30 years, bartended at Huceks Tavern for 20 years, He enjoyed yard work and spending time with his family.
Manuel is preceded in death by an infant daughter, parents: Jesus and Maria and several brothers & sister.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years: Sharon (Young); daughter: Sherry (Rex) Harrison; sons: Steven, Jeffery, Manny Jr. (Allison); two Brothers: Jesse (Mary), Anthony (Angela); two sisters: Anne Dolnak, Mary (Travis –deceased) Young, as well as his grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. A celebration of Manuel’s life will continue on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Joliet.
