Marion Therese Gleason

Marion Gleason age 72 of Morris, formerly of Joliet, passed peacefully on Sunday January 11, 2026, in Morris. The daughter of Thomas L. Gleason and Shirley Gleason (née Albright). She was born and raised in Joliet. She attended Sacred Heart school and St. Francis Academy and then graduated from ISU- Normal with a degree in Psychology.

Early on she worked at the JTHS school district and the Joliet Arsenal in visual arts. The majority of her career (20+ years) was out West in Arizona, Colorado and Washington state. She worked in the graphic arts industry and later a financial services company. She loved that part of the country and took advantage of all that the outdoors offered. She brought her mother Shirley out to spend time during the winter months. She hosted family vacation trips many times.

She returned to Illinois in Morris to be by her niece, Patty Lindberg and family, Zoie and Zach Chapman. She also appreciated spending time with her mom Shirley and Uncle John Albright.

Marion is survived by her sister Laurie, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and long time friend Mary Vogt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Kathy and sister Monica (John) Ransom.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at Tezak’s Home to Celebrate Life, 1211 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, IL 60435.

In accordance with her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1320 E. Cass St., Joliet, IL will take place privately at a later date.
