Mary E Muir 1962-2018 Age 56

Mary Ellen Muir (nee Moller), age 56, of Channahon and formally Streamwood, IL passed away peacefully at home on September 15, 2018 with her family gathered around. She left this earth way before she had hoped after an awful, hard, exhausting battle with metastatic breast cancer. Cancer of any kind sucks! Cancer in children is unbearable and heartbreaking. She felt very lucky because she was given the amazing gift of time. She had time to love, talk, hug, kiss, laugh, rest, think, plan, cry, grieve, travel, and finally accept. She was given the time to watch her three beautiful, kind, special children grow into amazing, strong, successful adults who will continue to do great things. She was given the time to gracefully leave a profession that she absolutely loved... teaching. Her school family has been amazing and so supportive. She was given the time to let those close to her know how much she loved them. She was given the time to appreciate her husband Mark for standing by her side and supporting her through this exhausting illness. This disease is so hard on the caregivers. She was given the time to form new memories with her wonderful mom and siblings.

Mary leaves behind her beautiful family. Her husband Mark of 31 years. Her three beautiful and amazing children Michael, Jessica, and Gabrielle. Her mom Ruth Ann, four sisters Lorrie (Gene), Ann (Patrick), Liz (Bill), and Katie and three brothers Rob, Chris (Sonya) and her little brother David (Melissa). Love and care for one another! Her in-laws Dan (Cindy) Muir and David Muir. She also leaves behind many amazing nieces and nephews and cousins. Family is everything!

Preceding her passing and waiting to greet her on the other side are her dad Robert, her grandparents Charles and Margaret Toussaint, and in-laws Dale and Gladys Muir.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. We want to thank everyone for all of their thoughts and prayers during this difficult journey. Memorial donations may be made and very much appreciated to the Joliet Area Community Hospice.
