Mary Agnes Muren

Age 96 of Joliet, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Amita Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born July 11, 1925 in Joliet, Mary was a daughter of Charles and Mary (Hayes) Grabow. She was raised and educated in Joliet and attended St. John the Baptist Grade School and graduated from St. Francis Academy with the class of 1943. Mary was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for a number of years at Our Lady of Angels Nursing Home, and in her free time was active with the Sacred Heart League, Mother’s Club and the St. John Bowling League which she excelled in throughout the years. Mary’s most treasured times were always spent with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her children: Jayne Muren (Phil Sauer), Jack (Judi) Muren and Sue (Tim) Kloos; five grandchildren: Stacey (Mark) Rauser, Katie Muren, Marshal Kloos, Margo (Tyler) Wolgast and Marcus (Sasha) Kloos; four great-grandchildren: Evan Rouser, Alec Kloos, Luke Kloos and Eleanor Wolgast, numerous nieces and nephews, dear friends and her cherished traveling dinner group.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Mary; husband: Frank Muren who passed away in 2004 and her son Charles who passed away in 1990.

Family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. until time of closing prayers beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. The funeral will then drive in procession to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow and Mary will be laid to rest with Frank and Charles at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Joliet.
