Mary Ann Squillaci of Crest Hill, age 86, passed away on May 1, 2025. She was born on August 17, 1938 in Chicago to Mary and Martin Buonaiuto. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 27 years, Joseph; Sisters-in-law Rosalie Thompson & Rosemarie Squillaci; Brothers-in-law, Larry Kuczek, Dominic & Salvatore Squillaci.
She is survived by her children Lisa (James) Baker, Marty Squillaci, and Annette (Mike Heilmann) Squillaci; grandchildren Alyssa (Doug) Eckert, Jessica (Alex) Baker-Pappalardo, Dana (Jim) Foster, Jenna Kaminski, Joey Squillaci and Joshua, Aaron & Matthew Heilmann; great grandchildren Carter and Julia Eckert; sister Connie Kuczek and brother-in-law Jack Thompson; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Mary Ann graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and was a member of Epsilon Eta Phi Sorority. She was a High School teacher until focusing on raising her family. As her children grew up, she returned to work at Jewel Chef Kitchen, retiring as a manager after 27 years. An avid volunteer in the community, Mary Ann selflessly gave her time to Girl Scouts, PTA, Council of Catholic Women, Saint Joseph Hospital and Willow Falls Senior Living Community, to name a few.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Tezak’s Home to Celebrate Life, 1211 Plainfield Rd. Joliet, IL 60435. All guests are invited to return to Tezak’s on the morning of Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 9:00 am for closing prayers before proceeding to Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, 1705 Burry Circle Dr. Crest Hill, IL for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Immediately following, the procession will continue to Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Rd. Hillside, IL where Mary Ann will be laid to rest.
